Las Cruces Crime Report

Las Cruces is an incredible city with a lot to offer its residents. That said, there are some neighborhoods that you should avoid and certain parts of town where the crime rates are higher than average. We went through Las Cruces Crime Report data and found that these five areas had the highest number of crimes in 2019:

– East Mountain Road

– North Mesa Street

– West Main Street

– South Saint Francis Drive

– East Neal Avenue

Las Cruces New Mexico’s population in 2020 is projected to be around 100,000 people and projected to be over 105,200 by the end of 2021. Las Cruces crime rates are lower than the national average and in 2021 will likely stay that way because of its low unemployment rate and high income per capita. Las Cruces should see continued growth as it is welcoming new business and residents monthly that continue to add to this great city. That said we do have some crime in Las Cruces.

Las Cruces crime statistics according to the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program show that the Las Cruces Police Department reported a total of 24,373 crimes in 2017. This is down from 25,392 in 2016 and 27,0776 in 2015 but up from 22,325 in 2014.

Crime rates are also lower than what’s seen nationally as well with Las Cruces seeing only .45 violent crimes per 100 residents while the national average is about one crime for every person.

In 2021 you can expect these numbers to remain low because we have such a strong police department working diligently day by day keeping our community safe.

Las Cruces New Mexico has an unemployment rate projected at around three percent which will likely stay this way through 2021 as it is one of the easiest cities in the country to get a job. One company that has been hiring in Las Cruces has been the company responsible for cleaning crime scenes after police investigations knowns as crime scene cleanup. They provide other regional offices that can help you find the resources necessary to clean up blood after a crime scene, murder scene, or unattended death.
